Resident of Connecticut Required Emergency Medical Attention Due to Injuries Suffered in a Recent Motor Vehicle Accident

April 21, 2015 General

A resident of Connecticut required emergency medical attention due to injuries suffered in a recent motor vehicle accident. This individual was driving his motorcycle when he or she collided with a car. As is common for most motorcycle accidents, this particular wreck resulted in the motorcycle driver experiencing severe bodily harm.

First responders were called to the scene of an accident earlier this month in southern Connecticut. Rescue personnel were apparently told that a pedestrian accident had occurred; however, upon arriving, it was discovered that a motorcycle crash had taken place. According to preliminary reports, the biker was traveling northbound on the road when he or she collided with a car whose driver was attempting to turn into a business’s parking lot. The driver of the car was not injured in the wreck, but the victim suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police are still in the process of investigating this incident. It is unknown if any charges are pending in this case. Law enforcement officers remain tight-lipped about the specific details of this crash, including the identities of both drivers and any factors that may have contributed to the collision.

Motorcycle accidents occur at an alarming rate, both in Connecticut and across the country. In many cases, other motorists simply fail to see motorcycles due to the size of the bikes. Though it is unclear what caused this particular crash, if the victim suspects that negligence may have contributed to his or her injuries, he or she may pursue legal action against the driver believed liable. A personal injury claim that is litigated successfully in civil court may grant the victim of this incident monetary relief for any expenses incurred as a result. Compensation for future losses and pain and suffering may also be awarded.
