Attorney Cody N. Guarnieri Nominated to the Board of Directors of the Hartford County Bar Association
The Nominating Committee of the Hartford County Bar Association convened on April 7, 2020 and advanced the nomination of Cody N. Guarnieri to the Board of Directors for the Association for the 2020 to 2021 term. The Hartford County Bar Association is the oldest bar association in the Country, tracing its roots back to a 1783 when a group of thirty-two men gathered at Ripley’s Tavern and signed a code of practice and fees entitled “Regulations of the Barr.” Among the signers were Oliver Ellsworth, Oliver Wolcott, Jr., Enoch Perkins, John Trumbull, and Ephraim Root.

Attorney Cody N. Guarnieri is a trial attorney at Brown, Paindiris & Scott. His litigation practice focuses on criminal defense and personal injury litigation. In his criminal defense practice, Cody defends both adults and juveniles who are being investigated by law enforcement or prosecuted by the state of Connecticut or the United States of America. He has handled matters in nearly every criminal courthouse in Connecticut and ranging in seriousness from lesser misdemeanors to serious felonies, including sexual assault, bank robbery and murder.
Cody also counsels clients in dealing with administrative agencies for professional licensing issues, including with the Department of Public Health, Connecticut Medical Examining Board, Connecticut Board of Examiners for Nursing, Department of Developmental Services, Department of Consumer Protection, Department of Children and Families, and others. Cody regularly works with investigatory and disciplinary staff at the many boards, commissions and agencies of the State of Connecticut.
