Tragic Accident on the I-95 on May 5 Injured Two Individuals and Resulted in the Death of Another

May 12, 2015 General

A tragic accident on the I-95 on May 5 injured two individuals and resulted in the death of another. Emergency crews and law enforcement officers in Connecticut are said to have worked for hours to assist all those involved and to clear the scene — as is commonly done following car accidents. A section of the highway needed to be closed for some time to allow all this to be completed.

According to the police, a 20-year-old male, who was the passenger in a small sedan, was thrown from the vehicle after the car left the roadway and struck several trees. This reportedly occurred after that same car sideswiped another automobile on the interstate. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, this young man was pronounced dead before he could be transported to a medical facility. Another passenger was wounded in the wreck and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The extent of this individual’s injuries is unknown.

The driver of the sedan reportedly suffered minor injuries in the crash, though it was not reported if this individual required medical care. At this time, it is unknown if any charges are pending against this individual, or if the the driver of the second vehicle is being charged in any way concerning this collision. An investigation into the cause of the wreck is still ongoing.

Car accidents that result in injuries and/or fatalities, such as this incident, are tragic all around. The family members of the deceased victim, and the injured passenger, may be entitled to pursue compensation for any monetary losses suffered due to this crash. Legal claims may be filed in a Connecticut civil court against the person or persons believed responsible for the wreck. Claims that are successfully navigated may be granted remuneration for any monetary, physical and/or psychological damages deemed recoverable in accordance with applicable state laws.
