A horrific tragedy has shattered the lives of a Connecticut family. In what may have been reported as another one of the many car accidents that plague the country's towns, this one has resulted in the deaths of a little girl and her older brother. The parents and one other child have also sustained injuries in this crash.
The police have stated that they do believe that intoxicating substances and excessive speed has possibly led to this terrible loss. The children were riding in the family's vehicle when it was hit from behind by a sport utility vehicle. The five-year-old girl and her brother, who was eight, died from their injuries. Another boy, who is listed as being 12, is reported to be receiving medical treatment in a critical care unit.
There has been no report as to what severity of trauma the parents may have received. The driver who has been charged in this wreck has been taken into the custody of the Connecticut police. It has not been reported if he had been injured in the collision as well. He has, however, been initially charged with reckless operation of a vehicle and authorities have set his bail at seven figures. It is further stated that additional charges will likely be pursued.
The toll that car accidents take on the lives of the innocent is incalculable. The loss that this family has experienced will be with them for the rest of their lives. Nothing can ever replace the love, laughter, and promise that children bring into the lives of their families. This family, though, may decide to seek justice for the horrible tragedy that has befallen them by filing a wrongful death and personal injury suit against the driver who may have caused this tragic car accident. Such an action will not fill the void that has been left in their hearts and home, but, it may enable them to find some peace and solace if the possibly negligent actions of a responsible party can be held accountable in a tangible way.
