A Connecticut man is reported to have suffered critical injuries on a recent Sunday morning. The victim was reportedly involved in a series of car accidents -- once as a driver and twice as a pedestrian. The police are still conducting an investigation to discover the cause of this terrible chain of events.
According to reports, the 24-year-old man was driving a vehicle east on Interstate 84 when he apparently lost control of it. The SUV careened across the travel lane and came to rest on its top in the opposing traffic lane. The driver then exited his car and was reported by police to have been standing alongside the vehicle.
At that point, he was hit by the first of the two automobiles. This impact subsequently led to the victim being struck by a second car. He was described as having sustained traumatic injuries to his head. The man was first taken to a local hospital before being transferred to a second facility better equipped to treat such serious wounds. Police have reported that one of the drivers that hit the man was also hurt in the collision.
This victim has been reported to be in a critical care ward. Whatever may have led to this tragic sequence of events, this man may have a long and arduous recovery ahead of him. Connecticut laws have been enacted that may provide avenues of relief to the victims and loved ones of tragic events such as car accidents. Personal injury civil suits brought against parties where the evidence establishes liability for serious injuries such as this man suffered can sometimes help a family obtain monetary relief from the heavy burden of medical care and possible lost wages while a victim works to recover both physical and emotionally.
