Attorney Michael G. Curley focuses his practice primarily on guiding clients to develop their estate plans.   Michael believes that a well-prepared estate plan is one of the most meaningful gifts a person can give to their loved ones. Michael prioritizes a high-quality client experience in his practice, using technology to improve the process of achieving the peace of mind that comes with creating a comprehensive estate plan.

Michael has over a decade of experience as an attorney in the areas of estate planning, probate law, and trust administration. After beginning his career as a social worker, Michael attended UCONN School of Law in the evening division, while continuing to work as a social worker, and graduated with honors in 2013. He also previously served as Chief Legal Counsel at the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. This experience, combined with his background as a social worker, gives him a unique perspective on the importance of empathy, efficiency, and precision in legal practice.

Prior to becoming a partner at BPS Lawyers, Michael had the opportunity to work in a large regional law firm’s trusts & estates department serving high net worth individuals related to complex estate planning, tax planning, and trust and estate administration. This experience made clear how a well-tailored estate plan can benefit clients with a wide range of assets, family dynamics, and goals.

Michael lives with his wife and two children in West Hartford and enjoys spending time at the beach, or in the mountains, as well as coaching various youth sports. Michael’s wife is a teacher, his mom is a nurse, and his brother-in-law is a police officer. He particularly enjoys helping teachers, medical professionals, and first responders through the development of their estate plans. Regardless of his clients’ careers, he is dedicated to being their legal partner in guiding them to meet their goals.
