My practice focuses on all aspects of Family/Matrimonial Law and Special Education Law in Connecticut.

My Family/Matrimonial Law litigation practice includes, but is not limited to, divorce, child custody, child support, post-divorce modifications and judgment enforcement, and grandparent and third-party rights. Here, I advocate and fight for my client’s rights in the courtroom. I also assist clients in negotiating, preparation, enforcement and litigation related to premarital and postnuptial agreements. I often handle intricate, high net worth divorce matters. This relates to working with individuals and families with significant assets, high income earners, business owners and other self-employed individuals, and executives with intricate income structures. I also assist clients with complex trust and inheritance-related issues.

My approach to representation is client-focused, and I strive to provide tailored solutions that are aligned with my client’s goals. I work closely with my clients to understand their specific needs, concerns, and objectives. By doing so, I can provide personalized representation that considers their unique circumstances. I recognize that every matter is different, and I employ a variety of strategies to try and achieve the best possible outcome for my clients.

I believe that, when possible, parties should try to resolve their differences outside of the courtroom. To help clients do this, I am a trained divorce/family law mediator and a trained Collaborative Divorce attorney/practitioner. In divorce and family mediation, my role is to facilitate discussions between parties to help them reach agreements. In Collaborative Divorce, I represent individuals who, along with their spouse, pledge to resolve all issues without judicial intervention. I also serve as a Special Master in the Hartford, Tolland, and New Britain Judicial Districts to aid parties in resolving family matters.

I have been listed as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in family law since 2014. I am a member of the Hartford Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. I am on the Professional Development Committee of the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce, and am a member of the Collaborative Divorce Lawyers Association of Greater Hartford and the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group.

My Special Education Law practices involves helping families navigate the complex laws surrounding Special Education, the Individuals with Disabilities Act, Planning and Placement Team Meetings (PPTs), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Alternative and Private School Placement, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (504s), Disciplinary Hearings and Post-Majority Planning and Support.

My practice is guided by the wise words of Abraham Lincoln when he said, “Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser – in fees, expenses, and waste of time. As a peacemaker the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man.” I try daily to live up to those words.
