Richard Brown was recently appointed to the Connecticut Sentencing Task Force. A new law went into effect on July 1, 2006, which created the Sentencing Task Force to deal with sentencing issues and policies. Included on the Task Force are two superior court judges, two state's attorneys, two criminal attorneys with at least fifteen years of experience, the commissioner of corrections, the chairpersons and ranking members of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly (Michael Lawlor and Andrew McDonald), the chairman of the Board of Pardons, an assistant attorney general, three municipal police chiefs, among others. The Task Force will convene for its initial meeting at the Legislative Office Building on December 13, 2006.
