Attorney April Arrasate joins the law firm of Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP as an attorney of counsel and a member of the firm's Medical Marijuana Law Department. Attorney Arrasate is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, South Carolina and Florida. Prior to beginning her legal career, April worked in the biotech arena and in the field of pharmaceutical synthesis with Genzyme and with Harvard Medical School's Channing Laboratory. At Harvard, Attorney Arrasate worked in antigen synthesis to create a novel pharmaceutical that was presented and ultimately procured by a major pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Attorney Arrasate began her legal career practicing general litigation. However, in 2011, after losing her mother to a two-year struggle with breast cancer, April became a passionate and dedicated patient advocate and legal counselor in the medical marijuana industry. Since that time, she has combined her biochemical and legal experience to advise clients regarding the legalization and implementation of medical cannabis as a means of improving quality of life for patients and as well as realizing opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs. April is the Founder and Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Medical Marijuana Committee and has significant experience representing client's interests in the highly regulated Medical Marijuana industry in Connecticut.

April now brings to the firm her extensive experience navigating the Medical Marijuana statutory and regulatory regime, from application to implementation. Attorney Arrasate advises and educates clients on with regard to all regulatory compliance aspects of the medical marijuana industry, including commercial production, cultivation, dispensary relations, manufacture and fulfillment.
