Richard Brown representing John Haggett in Attorney General’s Antitrust Lawsuit

Richard Brown is representing John Haggett in the recent antitrust lawsuit initiated by Attorney General Blumenthal.  The Complaint is part of the state’s antitrust investigation into allegations of bid-rigging in the heating and air-conditioning industry. Haggett is the former president of BG Mechanical Services, Inc., an East Windsor based company, which has since relocated to Massachusetts.  BG agreed to pay $280,000 to settle the allegations of bid-rigging.  Attorney Brown was quoted in the Hartford Courant on October 24, 2006, stating that Haggett was aware of the attorney general’s lawsuit, and that he and his client were reviewing the complaint.  Antitrust violations are civil infractions under Connecticut statutes. Anti-competitive conduct can be prosecuted as a crime under federal law.
