The Flock Theatre performed Romeo & Juliet in a free performance in Portland
Family Shakespeare in Portland returned to town with a performance by the Flock Theatre of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet on August 29, 2009. While rained out from its usual location on the Portland Town Green, a crowd enjoyed a fresh performance of Shakespeare's early tragedy at the Brownstone School.
Family Shakespeare in Portland was started in 2008 by David S. Rintoul to bring accessible, engaging, professionally-performed, and free Shakespeare to the area. This year, Friends of the Portland Library sponsored the performance, which along with generous support from local businesses, made the performance possible.
