Following his fourteen month clerkship at the Connecticut Supreme Court for the Hon. Dennis G. Eveleigh, Associate Justice, Attorney Jared Cantor returned to Brown, Paindiris and Scott in August, 2011. Prior to his clerkship, Attorney Cantor worked for nine months as an associate in the Hartford office of Brown, Paindiris and Scott. As an associate at the firm, Attorney Cantor concentrates his practice on a wide range of civil litigation, including personal injury, contract disputes, employment law, and civil rights cases, primarily police misconduct, as well as workers’ compensation cases and criminal defense matters, including DUI and other misdemeanor or felony charges. On the basis of his familiarity with and interest in appellate litigation, Attorney Cantor also stands ready to assist clients in all aspects of preparing their cases for appeal, from the initial filing of a notice of appeal, drafting appellate motions and briefs, to oral argument before state or federal appellate courts.
Attorney Cantor graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in May, 2009. During law school, Attorney Cantor served as an Executive Editor on the Connecticut Journal of International Law and as Chair of the Moot Court Board’s annual Loiselle Moot Court Competition. As a law student, Attorney Cantor received the CALI Award, which is awarded for receiving the highest grade, in Contracts, International Law, Human Rights & International Law Clinic, Labor Law, Statutory Interpretation & the Judicial Process, and National Security Law. Attorney Cantor also holds a bachelors degree in History, high honors, and a minor in German from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
